Popo story from Gerardo Juarez FloresGerardo Juarez Flores sent the following,
Last january 1st. 1998 I was near of Amecameca, that is a town, near the Popocatepetl, it was around 18 hours in the afternoon, it began to be dark, when suddenly, I saw the volcan (who is called Popo, or recently Don Goyo), it had started to have an eruption. I can see how the lava began to get out from the crater and started to run over the land, it seemed like a Crhist- maso tree. It was very impresionant how the red runs. I love this volcan and his partner called Iztacciuatl, they are a Mexicoos simbol.
The history tell us that when the aztecs began to travel, they were looking for a place where they could found an eagle figthing against a snake, stan- ding over a nopal, and a white woman should be the witness. The profecy was true when the aztecs arrived to Mexicoos valley.
