Most basalt lava (the hottest kind), which is what we have in Hawai'i, is usually between 1140 and 1170 degrees C when it is erupted. That translates to around 2200 degrees F. The lava erupted at strato volcanoes like Mt. St. Helens or Pinatubo is usually a few hundred degrees C cooler than basalt.
