Please describe to us two types of volcanic eruptions.

rocky Sara Lindquist

Dear Sara,

Two types of eruptions are Hawaiian and Plinian. Hawaiian activity is characterized by the non-violent eruption of fluid basalt. The current eruption at Kilauea is an example of this type of eruption. Plinian activity is characterized by the violent, explosive eruption of large volumes of ash. Mount St. Helens is an example of a Plinian eruption.
