readerDear reader,
I sure wish I knew. I'd go watch. I'm ready for a break from ice covered North Dakota and a volcano always looks good to me. Seismicity is high at Poas in Costa Rica and eruptions may begin again soon. But I'll almost bet a dollar that it will be a volcano we haven't thought of in awhile. Roughly 20-30 volcanoes are erupting each month. Many of these are continuing eruptions. So, there will probably be a new eruption in the next week or so. Trick is if it is a small or remote eruption we probably won't hear about it until it is reported in Smithsonian Institution's Bulletin of the Global Volcanism Network. Until then keep an eye out for small paragraphs in the news paper, CNN, and What's Erupting Now.
