Do you have any interesting facts about the folklore, history, and sciences of Mt.Vesuvius? I'm doing a report for class.

Dear Sue,

There happens to be a Vesuvius home page at:

http://tribeca.ios.com/~dobran

It looks like it is run by one person and perhaps it will have some good information. Of course Vesuvius is most famous for its big 79AD eruption that destroyed the roman towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum. For that reason this eruption has been studied a lot. There are books that will have probably all the information you'll need. One of these is:

"Pompeii and Herculaneum The Glory and the Grief" by Marcel Brion, published in 1960.

Good luck with your class project.
