Hello. I'm a professional children's writer, and am working on a book called Caves, Graves and Catacombs for Allen & Unwin in Australia. It deals with all sorts of "underground" things, and I thought it might be interesting to include something about volcanoes, though I admit this is not a topic I know a great deal about. I was very interested to browse through your Volcano World listings. If anybody would like to make some suggestions about strange and exciting volcano stories/news, I would be interested to hear from you.

Dear Natalie,

The best volcano stories I know are in Hawaiian Legends of Volcanoes by William Westervelt. They give me chicken skin. The book can be ordered from the Hawaii Natural History Association (808-967-7311).
