I am looking for a reference about the reaction of Ben Franklin on the Laki eruption in 1783.

rockyG. G. Santel

Dear G.,

Have a look at: Franklin, B., 1784, Meteorological imaginations and conjectures. Manchester Literary and Philosophical Society Memoirs and Proceedings 2: 122.
I believe that Franklin reports an occurrence of dry fog in North America from the Laki eruption.
I also contacted the Franklin Institute to see if they have any additional information, If so, I will forward it to you.
Thanks for a fun question.
