Does every volcano that occurs under the surface of the ocean result in a tsunami?

Dear S.F.,

Do you mean does every ERUPTION result in a tsunami? There are many underwater volcanoes that are just sitting there not erupting at all. Anyway, the answer is no, it is quite possible for an underwater eruption to not cause a tsunami at all. In fact, I'm having a hard time trying to think of an underwater eruption that did cause a tsunami. The great majority of tsunami are caused by earthquakes rather than eruptions.
