Could anyone please:-) tell me what you call the centre
of a volacno? or the correct name of a plato?
awaiting your kind reply.......and to help settle
a dispute un the familly.

I don't know what the plato part is about. As for the center of a
volcano, there probably isn't really a name for that. Sometimes you will
find the old central part of a volcano where everything else has been
eroded away. This is called a volcanic neck, but I've never heard of
anyone referring to the neck of an active or non-eroded volcano. Some
folks would consider the magma chamber to be the center of a volcano but
some volcanoes don't have magma chambers and in some cases the magma
chamber is actually under the volcano, not in it.
I'm afraid this may not settle the dispute very much.
