What is a nuees ardentes?

rocky reader

Hi reader,

It means "glowing cloud." In Indonesia, they are called "awan panas," which means hot cloud. A nuees ardentes is an ashflow that flows down the side of an exploding volcano, being pulled down by gravity. They can travel 60 miles per hour or faster.

Sincerely,
John Dvorak
