AmberA Plinian eruption is explosive, sending a cloud of ash high above the volcano. See the description in the background information (http://volcano.und.edu/vwdocs/vwlessons/kinds/kinds.html). Co-ignimbrite refers to ash derived from pyroclastic flows, clouds of hot ash and gas, as they descend the flank of a volcano. Coignimbrite deposits might be found above or below the deposit of the main pyroclastic flow. The second question is confusing. Where is it from. The -65 might be the temperature high in the atmosphere after the ash has mixed with a lot of air.
Sincerely,
Steve Mattox
