Where do you find a cinder cone volcano?
Any in the U.S? Thanks, I'm doing a science project.

J. Colburn,
Cinder cones are the most common type of volcano on the surface of the
Earth! The average cinder cone is about 800 m wide and 150 m high and
erupted for 30 days. Cinder cones occur in nearly every western state. The
most famous cinder cone in the USA is probably Sunset Crater east of
Flagstaff, AZ. I would guess that there are a few thousand cinder cones
in the USA, and ten-twenty thousand in the world. A beautiful example of
a cinder cone is La Poruña in northern Chile, which is shown in Peter
Francis' slide set, picture #19.
