distance. The margin of a blocky lava flow is to the right. The photo was
taken in one of the dozens of villages in Ijen caldera. About 12,000
people live in the caldera.
The active crater at Kawah Ijen has a radius of about 1,100 feet (360 m).
The acidic crater lake is about 600 feet (200 m) deep.
