Located 120 km East of Mexico City, 25 km NE of Puebla.
La Malinche is an eroded andestic/dacitic stratovolcano. Deep canyons are glacially carved on east and SW flanks. Most recent activity are pyroclastic deposits dated at 3000 yr BP, so this is an active volcano.
