Prabhu Ram (Co-I) received a PhD in Computer Science from North Dakota State University in Fargo in 1993. His main area of interest is databases, especially topics concerning transaction management and query processing in distributed and heterogeneous databases. Prabhu is experienced in using many computers and languages, and is a member of ACM and IEEE computer societies. He will take the lead in establishing the networking architecture of VW and in overseeing the design and implementation of VW. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science department at the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks.

Prabhu liked the NorthWest so much when the VolcanoWorld team visited Mount St. Helens that he decided to move there. He has since accepted a position with the Boeing Company in Bellevue, Washington.
